Maison Foucher Lebrun

A grippy wine with aromas of ripe and cooked cherries with a hint of soft calfskin leather. It is medium bodied with sour cranberry and redcurrant flavours and firm tannins on the finish. Cabernet Franc grapes came from vines planted on limestone and tufa soils at Chacé, several kilometres south of Saumur, a town known for its medieval fortress originally built in the 10th century. The wine was matured in French oak barrels with 10% new.
