South Africa’s coastal regions are becoming increasingly renowned as a source of zesty, punchy, world-class Sauvignon Blanc. This particular example shows all the grape’s vivid fruit on the palate – there’s loads of peaches and apricots, with a hint of riper tropical notes as well as a bracing dash of grassiness – but there’s more to it than fruitiness. It derives an additional wow factor from the inclusion of 10% Semillon in the blend, combined with partial ageing in oak, lending extra weight and richness on the mid-palate, leading out a fulsome finish. 2026-2028 – NH
