The Sicomoro cuvée hails from a mature, 30-year-old Sangiovese vineyard of silt and sand soils, perched at 300 metres elevation in the Morellino di Scansano appellation. This Riserva wine is aged for 18 months in a mix of large French oak vats and smaller barriques. The nose is highly complex with notes of cassis, dried herbs, graphite, truffle and potpourri unfurling in rapid succession. The palate is equally rich and layered, with fine depth of flavour, subtle oak, vibrant acidity, and elegant, fine-grained tannins. Decant an hour before serving. 2024-2039 – JB
