The Montescudaio appellation has highly varied terroir, with layers of dark clay, sand, and quartz. The Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this blend thrive in these deep, well-drained soils. The 2021 cuvée is pleasantly fruity with underlying rusticity. Bracing acidity combines with a taut, weighty structure, and robust tannins on the palate making this cuvée a little tightly knit at present. Needs a few years to soften and harmonize.
