A bouquet with dried fruit, tar, graphite and pencil shavings leads to a structured wine which reveals more succulent fruits on the palate. Blackcurrants and other dark fruits are enhanced by fine-grained tannins and a harmonious balance. Nice to drink now, it is not yet at its peak and has the structure and flavours to cellar well. Produced from 100% Sangiovese (locally Prugnolo Gentile), a careful selection of the grapes was done in the first half of October 2016. Matured for three years in a combination of new oak barrels and older oak.
