Producer
A supple wine with apple and red cherry aromas. It is medium-bodied with more cooked dark fruit and jammy flavours.
Chateau Mirausse Le Rouge de l'Azerolle AOP Minervois
Fresh grass with red and sour cherry aromas and a cranberry astringency. It is quite light mid palate with firm acidity giving weight on the finish. Château Mirausse, in the Minervois, is a 13-hectare domaine run by Raymond Julien.
Chateau Jouclary Tradition AOP Cabardes Famille Gianesini
A medium- to full-bodied wine with dark cherry flavours. It has good structure with ripe tannins and a nice bitter fruit finish. Cabardès Appellation is the only one in France to mandate the combination of Bordeaux varietals with Mediterranean grapes for its red wines – in this case, the principal grape is Syrah at 40% with 20% each of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Grenache.
