Still awkward and adolescent, the nose shows restrained yet complex notes including red currant, tinned strawberry, red apple, blueberry, cinnamon, mint, bay leaf, and rose petal. In the mouth this tightens considerably with surprisingly firm tannins that add structure and an old-school dusty note.
