Vin del Fattore, Governo all'Uso Toscano, Sangiovese Maremma Toscana, DOC, Vignaioli Morellino Sca, 2021

A rich, velvety style of Sangiovese produced from partially desiccated grapes. The first batch of harvested grapes is left to dry in refrigerated rooms until 15% of their water has evaporated, thus concentrating their sugars, flavours, and acidity. These grapes are then blended with fresh grapes fermented upon arrival at the winery, creating a blend with a subtle raisined character. Heady notes of cassis liqueur, baked dark fruit and dried herbs feature on the nose. The palate is ample and suave, with powdery tannins. 2023-2027 – JB
