Winemaker and keen traveller Daniel LeFrancois works with grape producers and winemakers in different regions. Grapes for his Sonoma Coast 2018 Pinot Noir were sourced from a mature hillside vineyard. Mild days with cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean create good conditions for producing Pinot Noir. It has ripe jammy fruits and cooked cherry compote with raspberries. Smooth and round in structure, it has good cherry and menthol flavours with a lingering jammy finish. Grapes were whole berry fermented in open top fermenters. The wine then spent eight months in a mixture of new and old French oak barrels.
