Wingara was established by the Yunghanns family of grape growers and citrus fruit farmers in Sunraysia and Coonawarra. With 217 hectares and a winery capacity of 18,000 tons, the estate grows mainly Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Shiraz, among other grape varieties.Winemaker Frank Newman and viticulturist Craig Thornton have years of experience in crafting wines and vineyard management. Frank Newman was Red Winemaker at Penfolds.The winery was built in 1980 and Sunnycliff wines was launched in 1989. This family-owned business produces estate-grown single varietals, and uses only premium quality grapes for Sunnycliff. They are committed to sustainability in water and land management, waste and chemical management and packaging.
