Antiyal Maipo Valley, 2017

Antiyal 2017 has buttery patisserie aromas over a dark fruit background with a touch of smoke. Medium to full bodied, it has a silky texture with a good firm flavoursome finish. Quite restrained in character for the time being, it shows lots of potential for future drinking with good structure and ripe tannins. A blend of 45% Carmenère, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Syrah, grapes were picked by hand and underwent a cold soak for three days before natural fermentation occurred. It was matured for 18 months in French oak barrels with 70% new, 25% one-year-old and one concrete egg.
