Tempranillo grapes came from the high-altitude vineyard planted 25 years ago close to Laguardia in the foothills of the Cantabrian Mountains. Matured in oak for 14 months using 40% French and 60% American, the oak is distinctly apparent with pencil lead and wood dominating black cherry and plum aromas. On the palate, bitter cherry flavours fight their way through. It is medium-full-bodied and concentrated with good potential for the cellar as the oak becomes more integrated.
