Deep purple hue. The panache of Zinfandel comes through in plump, tinned strawberry and raspberry aromas with plenty of fine detail. Sweet spice, cassis, vanilla and tobacco lend a touch of refinement to this fruity exuberance. On the palate, it’s a three-horse race between the Zin, Cabernet’s more familiar cassis, menthol and black cherry, joined by neatly parcelled oaky notes of licorice, leather and tar.
