A deep ruby, near-opaque appearance. The nose offers medium-intensity aromas of pencil shavings and lead, dried blackberry and chokeberry, dried leaf, ink, a hint of celery salt, a hint of meat jerky and a balsamic note. The palate is dry, has a medium acidity, medium extract, medium-plus medium-to-firm textured tannins, a coating presence, medium body and nice length and intensity of tart, dried chokeberry and blackberry, tart red plum reduction and inky fruit complemented by wood spice and just a hint of smoke, trailing off to a medium-plus tart finish. 2025-2028–IR
