Symphonie AOP Cotes du Rhone Maison Christophe Pichon, 2022

Syrah with 15% Grenache aged for 10 months in barriques. A black, deep purple opaque in the glass. On the nose, it is of medium intensity with creamy, polished presence, and notes of tar, hickory, hints of cold smoke, orange chocolate and lard/black olive tapenade. Dry on the palate, it has a medium acidity, and medium-plus frame: extract, fine medium-textured tannins and body with lovely length and fruit of custard plum tart, tar, smoke, lard/olive tapenade, orange chocolate, nuts, roots/earth and floral elements, closing with a medium-plus warm finish. 2024-2028–IR
