The Winetraders

A native, rarely seen, yet promising variety. It opens with a deep purple, opaque color and a medium-intensity aromatic set of cola, hickory smoke, lard/bone marrow, savory richness, leather and prune spread, with a floral lift. The dry-ish palate follows with a low adequate acidity, a medium extract, medium-plus fine-textured tannins and a medium-plus body, all wrapped into a nice length and well-pronounced flavors of hickory smoke, tar, cola, lard/bone marrow and prune spread, closing with a medium-plus finish with smoky, Coffee Crisp note. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but will definitely appeal to some. 2024-2026–IR
