Domaine Berthet-Rayne, Cuvée Cadiac, AOP Châteauneuf-du-Pape, 2022

A 50/50 blend of Grenache/Mourvèdre, with 15 months of barrel ageing. The colour is very deep, opaque ruby. The medium-plus to high intensity, lifted, “leaping-from-the-glass” aromas feature red plum nectar, carrot juice, rosehip and carnations, chestnut, raw chocolate and chicory root. Dry, the palate offers a low but adequate acidity, a medium extract, medium fine medium-textured tannins, a medium body, a long presence and a high intensity of chestnut, red plum, raw chocolate, game, rosehip and carnation flavours, wrapping with a medium-plus to long finish.
