The wine offers a deep purple, opaque appearance and medium-intensity lifted aromas of ink, chocolate-covered black plum, smoke/tar, hickory and black olive/lard. It is dry on the palate, with a medium-minus acidity, a medium extract, medium-fine squeaky-textured tannins, a medium body, and nice length and persistence of inky, blackberry preserve, black plum, and some earthy, smoke/tar and chocolate flavours closing with a medium finish.
