Domaine des Remizieres Cuvee Vieilles Vignes AOP Crozes-Hermitage, 2023

Sourced from 65- to 70-year-old vines, the wine saw 15 months of barrel ageing with 70% new. A black-purple, opaque appearance. The nose shows medium-intensity, nicely polished aromatic elements of tar, smoke, brandied prune, cold embers, hickory, lard, black olive tapenade and mulberry tart. The palate is dry, has a medium-minus acidity, a medium-plus extract, medium-plus fine powdery tannins, a full body and lovely length and fruit with brandied prune and prune spread, hickory, black olive tapenade, mulberry tart and hickory flavours, and a medium-plus finish. 2026-2033–IR
