Meldville Cabernet Franc, VQA Lincoln Lakeshore, 2022

From a strong vintage, sourced from 22-year old vines, it was aged for 16 months in small French oak barriques post-fermentation. It has a deep ruby color and medium-intensity aromas of cedar, bell pepper jelly,tar, smoke, parsnip, pencil shavings and tart red plum preserve. Dry with medium acidity, the palate has a medium-sized structure – extract, medium-textured tannins and body – and the matching medium-plus length and intensity with red plum, dried bell pepper, tar, smoke and roasted carrot flavours and a medium finish. Pleasantly vegetal, maturing, in “dried fruit” zone now. 2025-2026–IR
