The palate is richly textured with very ripe black cherry, black plum, cigar ash, chocolate, licorice and sweet spice while the fresh acidity and moderate tannins round out the finish with the sugar playing no more than a supporting role. This is an uncompromisingly bold, tannic, old-school Port–and I am a big fan. At this price, there is plenty to like. Drink now.–MP
