Deep ruby hue. Classic, big-hearted Rioja with an obvious nose showcasing lengthy oak-ageing including notes of clove, cold ash, cedar, and nutmeg; tempranillo brings menthol, raspberry, blackcurrant and liquorice. Just as boisterous on the palate, this has layers of red and black fruit along with obvious smoky and toasty notes from oak. The finish is structured and lingering, with firm acidity and fine-grained tannins. Quite the achievement at this price! 2029-2032 – MP
