Deep garnet hue. Surprisingly discreet nose for a wine of this density. There are notes of black cherry, black currant, sweet spice and liquorice. In the mouth, this stretches its legs, the warming alcohol and swathes of black fruit combining with tertiary notes of leather, forest floor and tobacco. Although still young, there is already an extra gear; in other words, it is worth every penny! The finish lingers for a good 40 seconds offering black fruit, undergrowth, camphor and baking spice.
