Calaluna Vermentino di Sardegna DOC-C339

No wonder this cheap and cheerful Vermentino is a firm favourite amongst Opimians. The nose is fresh as a summer's day, with cut grass, gooseberry, lemon pith and a textbook note of candle wax. The good news follows through on the palate, with citrus and stone fruit notes underpinned by Vermentino's signature oily texture. This cellar has been carefully selecting parcels of grapes from around Dorgali since 1953, and they know the area like no other. Vermentino is native to this part of the island and never fails to produce characterful whites that can easily handle a few years in the cellar. 2027-2028 – MP.
