Medium purple hue. Still an infant, this offers aromas of crushed blackberry, cooked plum, coconut, vanilla, eucalyptus, damp earth, cold ash and wood smoke. As serious a glass of Merlot as one is likely to find this side of Le Pin, there is a huge swathe of new oak and black fruit that carpets the mouth. Black cherry, wood smoke, plum, crushed blackberry and dried herbs are all here. The finish is at least 60 seconds, and this will age impeccably. One for the grandkids. 2026-2038 - MP
