Medium ruby hue. Needs a bit of time to open up in the glass, but when it does it reveals layers of perfume, with notes of smoky bacon, black pepper, elderberry and damson plums. Elegant sinewy tannins are well integrated, and the finish is bright and long. Cool-climate Syrah style rather than a more opulent warm-climate Shiraz. 2026-2032 – NH
