2020 Febo, 85% Merlot, 15% Syrah, Costa Toscana Merlot IGT, 14%

Pronounced nose of red plum, liquorice, fruit cake, Parma violets, cocoa powder, crushed blackberry, vanilla and clove. Still very young, with a juicy palate comprising ink, cinnamon, black plum, white pepper and black cherry, plus attractive integration of black fruit with spicy oak character. The tannins are still boisterous, and there is plenty of structure to help this age gracefully for a number of years. 2028-2031 – MP

Delicate nose starting to show some pretty, developed notes including dry leaves, tobacco, blackberry, black cherry, fruit cake and liquorice. The palate shows dusty tannins and is slightly drying, with firm acidity. There is a cool, menthol note along with black plum, tar, forest floor and blackberry. Now at its peak. 2027-2029 – MP

Beautiful nose offering filigree notes of red cherry, red plum, red currant, cranberry, tobacco, incense, violets, tar, prune and Christmas cake. The palate is even more impressive, with layers of delicate red fruit intermingled with tertiary notes of forest floor, liquorice and a Burgundian hint of Bovril and farmyard. This is a fully mature, complex, aromatic and scented red for current consumption that provides an extraordinary amount of pleasure for pocket money. 2027-2029 – MP
