Pale amber. Discreet and elegant nose with rusk, porridge oat, bran, red apple, peach, heather and dried honey. A most ‘Scottish’ whisky, there is a Speyside delicacy complete with a hint of woodsmoke and cured meat. In the mouth this is antithetical to the Marsala Cask Finish, with a delicate, honeyed and floral entry, gentle drying mid-palate and gorgeous finish that heroes the concentration rather than the alcohol.–MP

Deep amber. Pronounced nose with caramel, toffee, dark chocolate Kit-Kat, porridge oats, tinned pear, honeysuckle and marzipan. Bold, dramatic even, very intense palate with notes of shortbread, baked apple and salted cashew. The palate
is driven by the warming alcohol but finishes with a broad swathe of ripe, almost sweet orchard fruit.–MP

Medium amber. Intriguing nose that combines notes of toffee apple, barley sugar, cooked apricot and pine balsam. Full-bodied and uncompromising, this has a hint of Islay austerity along with oatmeal, floor polish, candle wax and toffee. The finish lingers, driven by spirit and a gentle hint of rose petal, ginger and orange peel. Almost as complex as the wine!–MP
