Deep ruby hue. This shows a gorgeous, obvious nose, with loads of ripe black fruit including cherry and plum supported by liquorice, dark chocolate and crushed blueberry. The palate is equally welcoming, with cocoa powder, wet earth, cooked plum, dark cherry and Oriental spices, including sandalwood and cinnamon. The finish is buoyed along by ripe, supple tannins and a pleasant streak of acidity. 2027-2030 – MP
