Kuyen by Antiyal Maipo Valley, 2018

Kuyen, meaning “moon” to the indigenous Mapuche people, is an elegant and layered wine which has not yet reached its peak. It has a mellow oaky and fruit bouquet with notes of black pepper and other spices. It is produced from a blend of 47% Syrah, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carmenère and 6% Petit Verdot, grown on the older vineyard plots. The palate is supple with rich red fruit flavours combined with vanilla and a zesty acidity. The wine was matured for 12 months in French oak with 20% new.
