A light- to mediumbodied red wine with aromas of treacle, plums, raisins and floral notes with some coffee. Fresh raspberries and plum flavours come through on the palate with a grippy chocolate finish. Nielluccio, a local variant of the Sangiovese grape (Corsica is geographically closer to Italy and Tuscany than France), does best cultivated on the chalky limestone soils of Patrimonio in the north of the island.
