Pale lemon hue. Still an infant, this shows floral notes of acacia and jasmine, citrus notes of orange, lemon and lime, and a mineral note of wet stone. From the delicious and structured 2024 vintage, it is miles from its peak. The residual sugar does sterling service, fattening out the mid-palate and helping power things along to a surprisingly rich finish. The Badstube vineyard, very close to the Mosel, usually ripens well, and in this vintage, it comes into its own. Notes of lemon, lime, grapefruit, stone, modelling clay and wet wool all combine to great effect on the finish. 2027-2031 – MP
