Deep ruby hue. This is pretty serious Pinot, as one might expect at this price. The nose is very young and still brooding with black cherry, damson, blackberry, and oaky notes of clove, liquorice, coal tar, woodsmoke and cedar. As chewy and textured as any Burgundian example, often bordering on the just ripe (in a very good way) and yet gloriously full-bodied and rich, with layers of red and black fruit supported by earthy notes. There is cooked plum, damson, raspberry jam, vanilla, cedar, clove, cinnamon and rhubarb, all coalescing into a powerful and joyous finish. An exceptional example of the craft. 2027-2032 MP
