Ruby red hue. This doesn't hold back on the nose, offering cherry compote with herbs and pipe tobacco in rather heady harmony. The palate is sizable, no doubt, holding well together, the residual sugar and alcohol adding purpose to a slab of black cherry, plum, and dark chocolate. On the finish, sour cherry adds complexity, and there is a neat dryness that closes the deal. 2027-2040 – JA.
