Pale lemon. Delicious nose with subtle barrel-ferment notes of toast and popcorn. The fruit shows melon, apple, pear and lemon with additional complexity from oak. In the mouth, this is archetypal Adelaide Hills Chardonnay with a silky mid-palate full of stone fruit, including apple, melon and pear. Oak adds a spicy twist, with lees adding dairy and lactic notes of cream and buttered toast. The finish is beautiful: lingering and discreet. Give this another couple of years. 2028-2030 – MP
