Spicy aromas of white pepper, musk and meaty notes precede a sweet attack on the palate, revealing ginger, nutmeg and blackberry flavours. Verve is a medium-bodied wine with some chewy tannins on the finish. Matured for six months in Allier barrels, the oak is less marked than the Solemnis.
