ZUCCHETTO PROSECCO DOC EXTRA BRUT BACCARAT ROSE & VALDOBBIADENE DOCG SUPERIORE EXTRA DRY
SORAMARNE : 3 BOTTLES EACH

Zucchetto, Baccarat Extra Brut Prosecco DOC Rosé, Treviso 2026

The Baccarat is always the trickiest to get right each year because Carlo needs to source high-quality Pinot Noir as well as his own grapes.  With practice he knows which producers are most likely to share his fastidious attention to detail and he always pays a premium for the best fruit.  15% of the Baccarat is Pinot Noir – it doesn’t sound like a lot but think of the salt or pepper on your food – a little goes a long way!  Carlo and I usually blend this in the autumn and keep the sugar below 6 g/L.  I adore this wine – it’s box-fresh and with far more complexity than you’d expect.

Zucchetto, Valdobbiadene Extra Dry Prosecco Superiore DOCG, 2026 (Soramarne)

With temperatures soaring by mid-August, this was a year for careful monitoring of sugar, phenolics and acidity levels. If acidity drops too low before the flavours are fully developed, it’s Loblaw Prosecco time. Cool nights are what is required, and available, on the steep hillsides of Carlo Zucchetto’s family domain, where altitude starts at 200m. The manageable area means he is on hand when it counts most and his team ready to spring into action. I was impressed with this very early tank sample at the winery. It shows the bold flavours that one might expect in such a hot year but is not short on acidity. Carlo, you’re onto something here. 2027-2030 – MP
